Railway Maintenance Cooperation in Lithuania
2019 Lithuania-Harbin Economic & Trade Conference i.e. Welcome to Lithuania Presentation was held yesterday in Shangrila Hotel, Daoli District, Harbin city. The conference was jointly organized by Harbin Municipal government and Harbin Foreign Affairs Office and representatives from more than a hundred local enterprises participated in the conference. At the conference, councilors from Lithuanian embassy to China made presentations to introduce situation in economy, transportation, agriculture and tourism, etc in the country and promote economic and people exchange between the two countries.
Located in central eastern Europe that adjoins Belarus, Poland and Russia to the south and adjacent to the Baltic sea, Lithuania is an ancient country with glorious civilization and now is taking the advantage in industries such as food process, transportation, biotechnology and innovative technology, etc. At the conference, Mr. Ramunas Rimkus, the transportation councillor of Lithuanian embassy to China made a special presentation on the strength of transportation in Lithuania and the potential cooperation opportunities with China. During his presentation, Mr. Ramunas made detailed analysis on the value of transportation in the country’s overall economy, the transportation capacity that Lithuania can offer to the outside world and its Rail Baltica project that connects the three Baltic States with Central Europe along the North Sea-Baltic Corridor, etc. Through the ambitious blueprint presented by Mr. Ramunas at the conference, we have a general view of the transportation development in Lithuania and the prospect for possible cooperation in railway track maintenance industry with people in this country.
